The Promotion

B. Promotion

1- The secondary school teacher can be promoted by nomination, if s/he has the required qualifications, or on contest, at the following jobs:

- sub-manager of the studies

- secondary school headmaster

- inspector of education and fundamental teaching

- inspector of education and formation

The majority of the jobs quoted above require one period of formation. Other ones, not mentioned here, can be also accessible for him.

2- the promotion of the secondary school teacher in his post is made thanks to the system of levels.

To pass from a level to another, two marks are taken into account:  that of the headmaster and that of the inspector of the matter.

After the study of the file, the direction of education establishes the promotion decree which will be sent to the teacher.

The trainee teacher should also know that promotion at a higher level is governed by a system of durations divided in three cases:

Minimum duration = rapid promotion

Average duration = normal promotion

Maximum duration = slow promotion

The marks of the headmaster and the inspector of the matter influence directly over the period of waiting to obtain promotion.

And here is the marking table which is used as reference to the persons in charge (headmaster or other) and which governs the marking methods of the civil servant in each level.

The two extreme notes delimit the variation in each level which cannot be exceeded by the person in charge at the time of the reports on staff members.
